Nancy Leisure, the President and visionary who founded the women's support group back in 2017, stated We help women who are transitioning from mental & physical imprisonment, homelessness, and general hardships on life's journey. The ultimate goal is to have a transitional house, so we can help them continue the healing journey and transition to permanent housing. We offer whole-life recovery-rediscovery care, coaching, and mentorship groups & workshops." Sisters of Hope NC, Inc. started as a group that met at each other's homes. When COVID struck, it evolved into a women's support organization where we serve women at the North Piedmont Correctional Center, Lelsie House, and in our community because so many people were going through depression and loneliness. We partnered with the Cooperative Community Ministry (CCM), where we serve Sunday dinner once a month. We are looking to open up a Transitional House of Hope in Davidson County, "where we can help them continue the journey of healing, recovery, growth, and a change of mindsets, and hopefully change their lives so when they come back into the community, they can be productive citizens she says.
